What Happens to Rite Aid Pharmacists After the Walgreens Acquisition? @charlierph: In my experience, no chain is flush with RPhs. Displaced RPhs should be absorbed easily. I work at a Walgreens pharmacy and we have another Walgreens literally down the block from us. I don't think they will just close them out completely but will most likely convert it to another Walgreens. I wouldn't worry about it. I'm pretty sure my store will close as we are across the street from a Walgreens. This could certainly be the case for a lot of other Rite Aid pharmacists. Hydrocodone Rescheduling: Did It Work? We have seen a significant decrease in norco prescriptions ever since reschedul- ing. I've seen increased tramadol and Tylenol with Codeine #3 prescribing. It's more of a pain now than before. Too much busy work for the same amount of hydrocodone coming through. CMS, Department of Managed Health Care, State Boards have got to step up to the plate and address PBM unregulated practices. If they won't address such business practices, then there is no point in having these regulatory agencies "overseeing" what is best. CMS has allowed the PBMs to profit at the expense of our patients. We need to let our voices be heard. Pharmacies Face Financial Hardship with Rising DIR Fees h f t f d s h s t o W h A f t f o t o d s s h e s e s t . t December 2015 PharmacyTimes.com 17
